September 2019 Alaska Cruise Day 3-Juneau- Dinner

After a very long day, it was late and we had dinner and did not do much else.

Being from central Florida and not used to cold weather of any sort, I was ready to get warmed up with some soup, lobster bisque to be exact.

I then had an appetizer of a goat cheese fondue.

On Princess, Club class or above gets a select part of the dining room and they have the chef cooking something for everyone to taste, even though we did not need it they gave us the pasta dish to try.

Since we were in Juneau they had crab legs on the menu and they were good.

Finally, the love boat and Baileys and coffee.

September 2019 Alaska Cruise Day 3 Juneau-Foodie Tour Part 2

So, I am having issues uploading more than 10 pictures at a time. I will be posting in smaller increments than I would like.

Next we went to have homemade sausages, including reindeer. I think everyone in our group bought several to take home with us.

We then went to a food truck and campfire for a fish stick.

We ended with a beer sampler at the Alaskan Brewing Company

September 2019 Alaska Cruise Day 3 Juneau Foodie walking tour

We love doing food walking tours. You get to eat local food, walk a little of it off, see the area in a relaxed fashion and find out from your tour guide why they live the area.

Tracy’s Crab Shack. Crab bisque and a crab cake.

Next to see the memorialized dog.

Next to a sports bar for a “hog” wing.

2019 Alaska Cruise. Day 3 Juneau. Red Dog Saloon

We had booked two tours in Juneau, the food walking tour and a combination Mendenhall Glacier and Mt. Roberts tour. We had some time in between and went to the Red Dog Saloon, which is known for their duck f*rts shots.

September 2019-Alaska cruise Day 3 Juneau

Welcome to Juneau. We were not arriving into Juneau until noon, which meant a leisurely mimosa breakfast.

Post-COVID First vacation and cruise since 2019

So like everyone else our plans were put on hold. My husband was laid off due to COVID but has a new job but other than that we escaped the virus relatively unscathed.

Our 2020 trip to Europe was canceled as well as our September 2020, Europe 2021 and June 2021 vacations. RCL and Celebrity both announced they would cruise out of the Caribbean in June 2021. I spoke to my husband and he was ready to jump at the chance. So we are almost to St. Maarten and our first cruise since September 2019 is getting ready to begin.

There were some hoops including the vaccines and multiple tests and stressing over the timing of the tests and required authorizations but we are almost there.

September 2019 Alaska cruise Day 3 Juneau

We were not scheduled to arrive in Juneau until nearly noon. That meant there was plenty of time for another Mimosa breakfast.

We had time to take in the scenery before leaving the ship.
